Hello forum.
Bare with me this is from my phone. I live in Springfield Mo. I am looking to get into a milsim and I am starting from ground zero on the airsoft side. I spent 4 years earing my pay as a US Marine Corps Grunt from 2001-2005 and the ANG from 2010-2013. I woupd like to get some info from you all on gear and equipment. I saw that some of you might be going to faded giant 2 and I would like that to be my first Op. Thank you for your help In advance. Thanks for your sacrifice and service to all the vets out there.

Welcome to the forums! Gear wise, find what works for you: with that amount of time in the military you most likely already have. The ops and teams you are with will dictate your uniform, but gear color and style really don't matter. Gun wise, what is your preference?

Well for years I have used all variants of m16/a2-a4 w/203, 249saw and even 50cal m2 on guntrucks. I was looking at picking up the vfc hk 416 cqb or a a good full metal gun that will take some field abuse. I am kinda starting to lean towards getting a blow back one as well but I just dont know enough nor have any hands on to know. I guess im really open to anyhting that will put rounds down range and not snap in half in I "combat ninja roll" aka fall on my face.

Lol thanks for the heads up. Kinda fubar'd the sales pitch. Are you all using gbb or aeg and where do you recommend buying from? For the gear I dont have the highspeed seal/recon/delta stuff I just have my old woodlan green flak and lbv system from oif 1 and some of my left over gear from the nat guard. I guess before I buy anything I should ask what if any positions are you looking to fill. I havr been a saw gunner, fire team leader, squad leader, armor custodian, gun truck team leader, scout for a sniper(never got to go to the school but passed indoctrination) and network op specialist. basically I m a jack of few trades master of none.

Blow-back systems waste battery power. Just sayin'. You can't go wrong w/ KWA, always a good choice. My poison: the ole reliable CYMA AK. Can't hardly wear em out. Of course the reality of it is that you'll try a bunch of stuff before you find something you like. It's kinda of addictive.

Stick with AEG's. Easier & cheaper to maintain, plus the mags are WAY more affordable. It's always best to roll as a rifleman to get used to the games & teams, then grow into a role. As far as gear & stuff, you'll get a million different opinions on this cuz everyone is positive they have the perfect load-out. I'd troll around on here, Facebook, youtube, etc., to get an idea of what guys roll with. Also, check these sites to start out- www.skdtac.com

www.kastwayairsoft.comThese are just a few, but most of our guys have gotten 90% of their kit from them. Check out our FB page too. www.facebook.com/InstigatorMilsim?ref=hl
Hope this helps out. ~Obi1

Well Its really about what works for you. That being said if you go with a 416 by vfc go with the elite force 416 but you really cannot go wrong with a Kwa. If you do decide to go with a gbb one thing to think about is weight. A Standard gbb mag loaded and full weighs more than a 30 round real steel mag. Plus cost.

Semper Fi Kain! Nice knife hand. I see your warrior stance is strong.
Thank you all I really appreciate your guidance and knowledge in this. I dont want to was money getting carp that will break or that I cant use (wrong batt, barrel, mags, ect) I did get a call today from sogo and my kwa 1911 will be in on thursday. So I have a start.
Ill rock the hell out of being a basic rifleman again its the good life. Do you all have a rank structure or is it more laid back? I want to be tactical but I mostly want to have fun get a rush and scoot and poop thru the woods.
Anyone want to break down aeg batteries shotgun stlye to my noob ass? I watched some youtube and read onthen but no idea what goes with what rifle for optimal performance.

Most all of that depends on the rifle. However you just reminded me that I need to put up a tech basics post. So i might do that tonight.

We don't really have a rank structure per se, just listen to whatever the SQL/PL has to say unless it's retarded. Batteries vary depending on the platform, and don't use LiPo's unless you have a lot of experience & your rifle is modified to handle them.
