I'm not gonna lie, I went into to this one with my aggression meter way low due to a head-cold, less than 4 hrs of sleep, and too many tasty beverages the night before. But even at 50%, I had a great time. The AO: A really nice mix of outdoor terrain w/ various cover types and some real murder-hole buildings. Any airsoft/milsim player will test their skill-sets here. My only gripe was some of the underbrush could be cleared from the buildings a little, but no big deal. The games: A great mix of objective-based, easily understood game types. - Domination: Whoever controls the most flags/checkpoints at the end of 45 min. wins. For an old RTS game player, this was pretty cool.
- Team Deathmatch: Who doesn't enjoy these?
- Building Push: This game is where Team Mako really shines. An attacking team works their asses off trying to root out the building defenders to the man. The 'dead' then respawn in an adjacent building and the whole thing starts again. Grueling stuff. Not for the meek.
The players: The Mako guys were outstanding as always along w/ several of the 'home field' players who you can really tell have the AO mastered. As always, there were the normal asshats who blatantly don't call their hits, and the ever popular hotheads who hate the world and scream at everyone over nothing. But these were no reflection on Team Mako at all. Just the standard small percentage and should always be expected. Just a fact. To sum it up: Good Stuff, even feeling as crappy as I did. Definitely going back for more sometime.
